Tutara Peak, the brainchild of the multifaceted multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Harvey Carter, is set to release the instrumental single "Bassika: Act 1." This ambitious undertaking is scheduled for release on Friday June 9, 2023, under the Fast Friends label. The single marks the beginning of an ambitious multi-part project that provides a glimpse into his musical exploration and experimentation.

"Bassika" symbolizes a deep dive into the evolution of Tutara Peak's artistic persona. "My goal is for the listener to completely envelop themselves in the listening experience. I want to show every face my music has taken, to convey the emotion I had when writing this collection of songs,” says Carter. What initially took form as a nine-minute composition was creatively divided into multiple parts, paving the way for a more detailed exploration of themes and concepts.

A signature feature of "Bassika: Act 1" is the blend of electronic and acoustic elements. Soaring violin melodies - performed by Emiko Rochelle - sit atop lush ambient soundscapes and intricate drum patterns. Carter elaborates: "Combining both electronic elements and acoustic elements has always been a staple for me. I feel like it’s important to strike a good balance of the two in my opinion. I’ve dove head first into genres of music I have never released before and with that comes new fresh ideas and possibilities.”

Tutara Peak’s music is influenced by a range of artists, from the ambient ethereal post-rock of Sigur Ros and the innovative indie rock of American Football, to the intricate guitar work of Blake Mills, the soothing electronica of Tycho, and the contemporary classical compositions of Olafur Arnalds and Eric Whitacre. "Bassika: Act 1" is set to be a sonic exploration that amalgamates these influences, opening an exciting new chapter in Tutara Peak's musical repertoire.
